Connor Tripp, PhD

It is my goal is to collaboratively support you toward a path of personal growth and well-being.

My Approach

I strive to offer therapy that combines warmth and validation with thoughtful, direct feedback— supporting insight, meaningful growth, and lasting change as you move toward your ideal self.

  • Broadly, I work with individuals navigating a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns, including depression, anxiety, difficulties with emotion regulation, and trauma.

I have a special interest in supporting women facing perinatal mental health challenges, as well as parents seeking guidance in strengthening their relationships with and supporting behavior change for their older adolescents /young adult children.

A health psychologist by training, I also have extensive experience working with individuals managing chronic pain and medical illness, as well as physicians navigating burnout.

  • I’ve received specialized training in several therapeutic approaches that guide my work with clients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also incorporate Behavioral Parent Training to support parents and families, as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) when working with individuals who have experienced trauma.

With a background in health psychology, I value developing a collaborative understanding of your psychological needs and overall health and wellness. Together, we will tailor therapy to align with your goals and support your well-being in a way that feels personalized, evidence-based, and empowering.

  • I am licensed in the state of North Carolina and provide virtual therapy to clients anywhere within North Carolina, as well as in-person sessions in the Chapel Hill area.

I am also authorized to practice under PSYPACT, which allows me to offer virtual therapy to clients located in other states that participate in the PSYPACT interstate agreement. You can find an updated list of participating states here.

  • In addition to therapeutic serivces, I offer supervision services for licensed clinicians and for clinicians completing their graduate training.

With experience in health psychology, I also provide pre-surgical psychological evaluations for individuals pursuing medical interventions such as spinal cord stimulators or bariatric surgery.
