  • CBT is an evidence based treatment, aimed at helping individuals to understand the interrelationships between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In recognizing unhelpful patterns of thoughts, emotions, or behaviors, people can also learn to challenge and change their thoughts or behaviors to be more effective for them. This treatment can be appropriate for clients experiencing distress related to chronic pain or illness, generalized anxiety, depression, difficulty adjusting to life transitions, and various other concerns.

  • DBT is an evidence-based treatment, aimed at balancing acceptance and change strategies to help clients increase their ability to tolerate distress, regulate their emotions, and improve their interpersonal relationships. This treatment can be appropriate for clients experiencing difficulties with emotion regulation, depression, substance misuse, distress related to chronic pain or illness, certain trauma symptoms, or symptoms of borderline personality disorder.

Of note, I do not provide phone coaching or group skills training at this time. However, with specialty training in DBT, I am able to provide individual skills training and individual therapy informed by the principles, skills, and general structure of DBT.
